Incident Call - HAZMAT + MVA - 4/5/15

Solitary 7 Alpha responded to a Crane Truck accident with a bridge collapse on Mt Coramba Forest Road, Bruxner Park. Road was closed and truck was removed at a later date.

Incident Call - 26/4/15

Solitary 7 Alpha was responded to assist Moonee brigade at a structural/grass fire located on Bucca Road. Fire was brought under control by the brigades. 

 

If you see out of control fire -- without a firetruck in attendance, try to get a precise location of the fire and report it to 000.

Incident Call - 27/3/15

Solitary Rural Fire Brigade in conjunction with Redhill Rural Fire Brigade and Fire and Rescue NSW, responded to a incident at Mastracolas Rd, Coffs Harbour. The incident was found to be a pile burn in which the landowner didn't inform the NSW Rural Fire Service prior to lighting his fire.

For those unaware of current laws regarding pile burns:

The law requires that you must notify all residents who adjoin the site of the pile burn at least 24 hours prior to the work. Other residents who might be inconvenienced by the pile burn should also be notified.

You must also notify your local RFS Fire Control Centre or your nearest NSW Fire Brigades station at least 24 hours before the fire is lit, and 1 hour before lighting.

Training Day

Firefighters from Solitary RFB were out on the road today undergoing training activities and driving around the area.

Solitary Rural Fire Brigade Christmas Party

On Monday the 8th of December, the Solitary crew celebrated the year over woodfired pizzas at the local pub! A good evening it was, and we're looking forward to seeing what 2015 brings us.

Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment and Injuries on Bruxner Park Rd, Korora.

Yesterday at approximately 6PM, Solitary Rural Fire Brigade responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident (Truck and Car involved) with entrapment on Bruxner Park Rd, Korora. After arrival on scene, the driver of the sedan was found to be trapped in the vehicle. Ambulance officers were treating the patient accordingly, and SES began removing the patient from the sedan. Once injured persons were removed from the scene, firefighters worked on clearing the roadway and assisted towing authorities with removal of the vehicles. This incident was featured on the Prime 7 6PM local news on the 21st of November.

From this, we urge road users of Bruxner Park Road to take extra consideration of the conditions of the road and to be cautious.

New Truck For Solitary!

On Tuesday 21st of October, we recieved a new truck that has replaced one of our existing trucks being 'Solitary 7 Alpha'.

The new truck is of similiar specification, although it has some few minor alterations and technology related enhancements.

This truck is now operational and will be used for incidents and brigade activities.

Grass/Scrub Fire at Sherwood Creek

Today whilst driving one of our trucks, Firefighters Matt and Ethan were responded to a Grass/Scrub Fire on Sherwood Creek Road, Upper Corindi. After arriving on scene, crews from Sherwood Creek brigade established that the landholder had appropriate approval to undergo a burn. The situation was rendered safe and crews left the scene.

Hazard Reduction at West Korora

On Sunday, the brigade performed a Hazard Reduction burn at Gately's Road. With the aid of Red Hill Brigade, the task was undertaken safely and completed successfully.
